Women's Fiction Writing in Iran: Examining the Feminine Style in the Works of Zoya Pirzad Based on the Content Layer

One of the branches of modern stylistics is the feminine style or feminine writing, which has drawn the attention of sociolinguists. The key issue in this article is the nature of the feminine style in the works of Zoya Pirzad based on the content layer. Research on women's literature and the stylistic analysis of their works, including those of Zoya Pirzad, is of great significance and necessity in gaining insight into their inner world and understanding their struggles and pains, as a substantial part of women's literature differs from that of men. The primary objective of this study is to identify the structural and content-related characteristics of Zoya Pirzad’s novels through the lens of feminine stylistics. This study employs a layered method, specifically focusing on the content layer. The research findings indicate that highlighting severe discrimination between men and women in terms of moral standards and the concept of human freedom is among Zoya Pirzad’s primary goals. The distinctive features of Pirzad’s works, in terms of content, are inherently feminine and closely tied to gender. In fact, themes such as women's existential concerns, identity formation, anti-masculinity, and the struggle for equality prominently manifest in Pirzad’s works. Zoya Pirzad has fully undertaken the mission of elucidating natural justice between the two sexes, striving not only to demonstrate the oppression inflicted on women by traditional norms but also to affirm their ability to compete with and surpass men—provided they recognize their worth as complete human beings with equal rights and responsibilities.
