The Role of Language in the Narratives of One Thousand and One Nights: Structural Analysis and Its Impact on Persian and Global Literature

One Thousand and One Nights is one of the most prominent examples of narrative literature, leaving a profound impact on both Persian and global literature. This study examines the role of language in the storytelling of this collection, analyzing how linguistic structure contributes to the stories' dynamism and appeal. Features such as framed narratives, symbolic and multi-layered language, and suspense creation are highlighted. The paper also explores the influence of One Thousand and One Nights on contemporary Persian authors like Sadegh Hedayat and global writers such as Jorge Luis Borges. Findings indicate that by blending literary and colloquial language, One Thousand and One Nights has created a unique narrative model that continues to inspire modern literature.
