A Comparative Study of the Concept of Self-Realization in Forough Farrokhzad's Poetry: An Exploration of Individualistic Approaches in Contemporary Persian Poetry

This article examines the concepts of self-realization and individualism in the poetry of Forough Farrokhzad. As a pioneer in contemporary Persian poetry, Farrokhzad’s innovative and groundbreaking approach expresses her personal experiences and emotions, using poetry as a tool for self-discovery and identity formation. Through a comparative and content-based analysis, this study identifies and interprets themes related to self-realization and individualism in her works. The findings show that, by employing a straightforward and unrestrained language and drawing on themes such as love, death, life, and liberation, Farrokhzad effectively portrays her inner experiences and individuality. By distancing herself from traditional forms and breaking free from restrictive cultural and social boundaries, she establishes a distinct and individualistic voice in Persian literature. This research also incorporates psychological and philosophical perspectives on self-realization and individualism to deepen the interpretation of her poetry. The study concludes that Farrokhzad’s poems, as reflections of her search for identity and personal experiences, can serve as a model for articulating self-realization and individuality in contemporary Persian literature, inspiring future generations of poets and researchers. Additionally, recommendations for future research emphasize comparative studies between Farrokhzad’s works and those of other poets, as well as interdisciplinary studies in this field.
