Among literary works that have endured, the narrative has occupied a significant portion, and every written story in the past and present possesses elements that play a crucial role in the success or failure of a story and its author. This research, of a descriptive-analytical nature, utilizing library-based resources, examines the narrative structure of Nizami’s Layla and Majnun. The findings indicate that the central focus is on the characters Majnun and Layla, with other characters revolving around their lives, each contributing to the unfolding of events through their speech and actions. The narrative is presented in an overarching style, although Nizami also employed other techniques such as character dialogue, internal monologue, and more. The tone derived from the vocabulary used in the characters’ speech generally conveys sorrow and grief, thereby providing insight into the characters’ psychological states.
